URGENT – PUBLIC MEETING on OXFORDSHIRE PLANNING, 17 MAY

May 4, 2016

SOS, together with Sustainable  Wallingford and the Need Not Greed campaign, are sponsoring a public meeting in Wallingford Town Hall on Tuesday, 17 May at 7.30. This is part of a wider effort to alert people across the county to the need to respond to current Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) consultations on the SEP REFRESH strategy, which threatens to overwhelm us with 100,00o new homes, 85,000 new jobs – and a new Didcot every two years.

if it goes through there will be increased pressure for new housing in many, if not most, of our towns and villages, as well as large scale potential environmental damage and serious potential increases both in air pollution and in greenhouse gas emissions.

PLEASE HELP US PUBLICISE – PRINT OUT AND FIND PLACES TO DISPLAY THE ATTACHED POSTER:

Download Poster Here.

PLEASE COME YOURSELVES. PLEASE RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONNAIRE

PLEASE ENCOURAGE  ANYONE ELSE YOU TALK TO DO SO TOO (DEADLINE, 20 MAY)

For suggestions on how to respond and further details  please  go to the Need Not Greed website

South Oxfordshire Sustainability Public Meeting – Planning- can we do it better?

April 20, 2015

Solar Roadshow at Wallingford Town Hall

March 3, 2015

Solar Roadshow at Wallingford Town Hall
Saturday 21st March, 9am to 3pm.

If you have ever wanted to know about solar renewables, find out how solar power benefits the environment and your bank balance, or been confused by the technical jargon of RHI, FiT and PV, then this is the event for you.
In April 2014 the Government launched the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme to promote the use of renewable heat. Owners of systems receive payments under the RHI scheme, but, unlike the FiT scheme, payments are compressed into a seven year window, thereby reducing the period over which payback is achieved.

Sims Solar from Wallingford is hosting the Solar Roadshow so that more people will be aware of the different installation schemes. There is no pressure to sign up, just go along and ask questions to find out more about solar renewables. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the event.
